Provisioning, Deprovisioning, Onboarding, Offboarding, or User Lifecycle Management, we all have terms we use for the starters, leavers and movers tasks we follow within our Google Workspace environment. On the 17th June the UK and Ireland Community will be hosting another online event on this popular topic. Before then we’re interested to understand how others are managing this process? What tools and scripts are you using? Are you scripting and using tools like GAM, which is extremely popular amongst many Google Workspace for Education customers, or have your purchased Google Workspace management tools like BetterCloud or Patronum? Have you taken advantage of the new Google Workspace licensing options for archived users? OnboardingWhen you create a new user, what processes have you automated? Do you use Google Apps Script to create Contracts, Training Records etc? Or something more sophisticated like Zenphi?OffboardingWhen it comes to offboarding there are a number of key steps, what a
I am the Product Owner for Google Workspace in my organization. I lead a team of over 320+ volunteers who we have named Google Guides to help me facilitate communication, evangelization, tips and tricks as well as helping team members become productive utilizing Google Workspace tools. Our company acquires companies frequently and it seems as though we are always in the process of transitioning new teams onto Google Workspace, typically from a Microsoft environment. The Google Guides started out as a small team of professionals in our organization who volunteered to help us pilot Google Workspace (G Suite at the time), evangelize our company’s decision to move away from Microsoft to Google and help team members worldwide transition. As many of you know, often times team members transition enthusiastically but more often than not, they go kicking and screaming! LOLMy role is to make that transition more comfortable, to train, provide tips and tricks, lead our Google Guides organizati
Can someone please go out and ask a Googler why for gods sake a +-Alias (say dominik+C2C@22dconsulting.com) is treated as an actual ALIAS to the primary account BUT in case of creating a new unmanaged gmail account? It works in Calendar It works in Meet It works in Drive It (obviously) works in Emails. Why is the account creation flow just … you know … IGNORING it? Thanks for coming to my RANT-Talk

Google has come out with an interesting value calculator to measure impact of google workspace. The two I found are: https://workspacecalculator.withgoogle.com/ which seems to work better for larger organizations and another one that was suggested to me by Joey Miller from intercloud. https://inthecloud.withgoogle.com/future-of-work-21/register.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=unpaidsoc&utm_campaign=FY21-Q1-Blog&utm_content=assessment&utm_term=-&linkId=111973704. I would love to better understand if there are other tools out there that you like to use to help drive use case development within your organization to adopt more google workspace.
The general consensus is that people have love/hate relationship with Google Chat. When Slack had outage at the beginning of the year, many Slack organizations had no choice but to resort to Chat as a backup. Compared to Slack/MS Teams, there are many areas of improvements for Chat. What are some of the items on your wishlist?I will start.Ability to delete rooms More admin controls (who can created rooms, who can post, who can leave, etc., similar to how Google released updated settings for Groups back in 2019) Ability for admins to see the group email addresses associated with each room Updated API

Google Workspace is certainly a flexible solution in all industries thus unifyng tech professionals, educators and tech lovers. I find Google Workspace easy to use because one needs to resolve a single challenge, the decision to define and put into action a collaboration. For my OnEBoard project I worked on a couple of issues with Google Support. I learned to not overcomplicate things but ask relevant questions and move one step at a time. Without coding OnEBoard took me 10 months from start to launch with Google Workspace and a dedicated team of collaborators. I'm continuing to explore easy solutions such as having a conversation in native languages while in Meet. using live captions and Translate feature in Chrome. What is your experience with Google Workspace easy implementations?
I thought this article from Tech HQ really nailed with @ChristianNewman and team was getting at during the Talk last week. Take a look at the Tech HQ article. Some of the features it highlights that demonstrate how the product is focusing on remote work are as follows:Google Assistant where users can now use their voice to ask Google what’s next on their calendar or to quickly join a meeting and send a message. Recurring ‘out-of-office’ events where users will be able to schedule regular, recurring out-of-office blocks. Second screen experiences in Google Meet where users can host meetings across a mix of devices. What do you think about them? Do you agree? Do you have others to add? Tell us below!

Many of us have been working from home during the past 12 months, and as we start to see signs that the world is getting back to normal, it’s unlikely that knowledge working will even be the same again. As we enter a hybrid working environment individuals will be given the choice of where they work, either in an office, remote or a blend of the two.Microsoft has recently announced Microsoft Viva which “builds on the power of Teams and Microsoft 365 to unify the employee experience across four key areas — Engagement, Wellbeing, Learning and Knowledge”Microsoft has identified that a hybrid working environment needs to have an online-first approach. So, how does Google catch up and which existing products can be used, and which need enhancing?
