On our computer I have 3 google email addresses. In two of those whenever I open a document and go to print it out there is no icon to allow me to print. What I get is at the top of the page in the center it asks me to open the report usually a pdf with google docs. This does not work for me as what ends up printing out is information that does not follow the formatting. What I would like to know is how do I shut that option off. I know it is some where in the settings but I do not have any idea where to look.A little background the first email address is my personal G mail account. When I go to print an attachment I have the open with google docs in the center of the page but than in the upper right hand corner I have an icon that allows me to print the document. With the second email address there is no icon in the upper right corner to allow me to print the document. All that is there is the open with google docs in the center of the page and a pdf symbol in the upper left hand corner
Hi,We are building an open source Data Observability tool dqo.ai and we wondering what kind of data quality issues we should focus on. So far we are able to monitor timeliness (if the data is fresh), validity (values in columns not meeting requirements), consistency (anomalies how the number of rows is growing over time), uniqueness.I will appreciate the feedback about the typical data quality issues that are worth continuous monitoring. The code is open source on github: https://github.com/dqoai/dqo Best Regards, Piotr
Hello! We’re back with the Cloud Series for Startups powered by Google! The Cloud Series for Startups is a series of talks and mentorships for startups to Build, Innovate & Scale applications with Google Cloud faster and securely for less. We have a series of talks and office hours lined up on Cloud Series throughout the year. Below are the details of the first two sessions: Session 1: Getting Started on GCP for Startups Date: 30th June, ThursdayTime: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm This session will provide you with various paths that you can take to get started. These paths may not be the same for everyone. Sometimes you just need a place to host your functions, other times you want to leverage the power of Kubernetes. Some things you have to do irrespective of the path you choose. Learn about all of these and get started on Google Cloud. Key takeaways: Prepare your cloud environment Secure before it's too late Paths to take for different kind of Workloads

Cloud Monitoring metrics as Managed Service for Prometheus Prometheus is an open-source systems monitoring and alerting toolkit. Prometheus collects and stores its metrics as time series data, such as metrics information is stored with the timestamp at which it was record, alongside optional key-value pairs. Prometheus provides a functional query language called PromQL (Prometheus Query Language) which lets the user select and aggregate time series data in real time.According to a recent CNCF survey, 86% of the cloud-native community reports that, they use Prometheus for observability. As Prometheus becomes more of a standard, an increasing number of developers are becoming fluent in PromQL. PromQL is a powerful, flexible, and expressive query language but its only able to query Prometheus time series data. Other sources of telemetry, such as metrics generated from logs, remain isolated in separate products and might require developers to learn new query tools to access them.Prometheus

On June 14, C2C hosted an event in Google’s Cambridge office. We believe in-person connections are invaluable to everyone in our community, especially when our members are able to immediately converse with amazing speakers who are sharing their journeys and business outcomes. The stories from this event—presented on stage from Google Cloud customers, partners, and employees—can all be reviewed below. Introduction from Google Yee-chen Tjie (@yeetjie), Google Cloud Life Sciences Head of Customer Engineering, kicked off the program at C2C Connect Live: Cambridge with a few words about how Google is using 10x thinking to make major unique and substantial investments in Healthcare and Life Sciences technology. Tjie made a point of mentioning Google’s record of solving problems using AI and ML, particularly with AlphaFold 2, the focus of the presentation Luke Ge of Intel gave later in the afternoon. After his opening remarks, Tjie hosted a round of Google trivia, inviting everyone in the audie

Docker is an open source containerization platform. It is a platform that makes it easier, simpler, and safer in building, deploying, and managing containerized applications. Docker provides the ability to package and run an application in a loosely isolated environment called a container. The isolation and security allows you to run many containers simultaneously on a given host. Containers are lightweight and contain everything needed to run the application, so you do not need to rely on what is currently installed on the host. You can easily share containers while you work, and be sure that everyone you share with gets the same container that works in the same way. Read more here
Hi There! We've come across a challenge using an internal HTTP load balancer (L7) and could use some advice. We're working on a project in Canada that requires GPUs (which GCP does not offer in Canada). Our Cloud Run project needs to stay in Canada due to speed/latency and data laws, however, this is forcing us to use VMs (GCE) in the US to gain access to GPUs.We want to internal load balance (HTTP) on our VPC (Cloud Run as the client in the Canada region and GCE+GPUs as the backend in a US region), but this doesn't seem possible. It appears the only way to load balance across regions is to use a TCP load balancer, which doesn't work as well (doesn't allow us to scale on metrics like number of requests or requests/second).We've considered setting up an Nginx proxy and other types of proxies that would allow us to cross regions, but it would be so much easier to use a GCP-native solution that autoscales.Any suggestions? Thanks!

It’s now GA! General availability of the PostgreSQL interface for Cloud Spanner. The PostgreSQL interface is available for no additional cost in all regional and multi-regional Spanner configurations. The PostgreSQL interface is a new way to access Spanner. It combines the familiarity and portability of PostgreSQL with the unmatched scalability and fully managed experience of Spanner. Devops teams that have scaled their databases with brittle sharding or complex replication can now simplify their architecture with Spanner, using the tools and skills they already have. Because it’s PostgreSQL, you can be sure that the schemas and queries you write in Spanner are easily portable. And because it‘s Spanner, you can trust that it will grow with your business and development team. Try it out today using a new granular Spanner instance, starting at $65 USD/month, or as low as $40 USD/month with a three-year commitment.
