Gmail security concern

Yesterday, as I began to select a recipient for a GMAIL message under “TO”, I typed the first letter of the recipient, and a very strange recipient address appeared, consisting of many characters, but having a definitive ( .com ) location at the end?
I became curious, and checked my GMAIL contacts to see if this address was there. After scrolling through my entire contact list, I did not find the strange contact?
How could this unknown contact have appeared in my recipient choices, but not in my contact list?

Thanks,

Careful User

@Careful User Maybe… This may appear from your “recent contacts” - it is a list of contacts, that are not in you saved contacts, but from whom you have recently received or sent emails…

Search for that email address in your inbox… noted, you may have already deleted it as you may have thought it was spam...

Yes. That sounds reasonable.

Thank you
